Yorkshire Sculpture Park

A commission for the Miro exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 2012/3.

The Spanish artist Joan Miró believed that 'sculpture must stand in the open air, in the middle of nature’, and so it is very fitting that the first major British exhibition of his work was held in the grounds of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. To complement the show, the YSP has commissioned three British designers to create new work inspired by Miró.

Here are the set of bookends I was thrilled to be commissioned to create, based on Miró’s 1967 sculpture Femme assise et enfant.
